Rebuilding Edmonton Schools as Community Hubs?  

 

n the Edmonton Journal today, David Staples reported that Ron Glen and Tom Olsen’s have a wonderful concept to rebuild older neighbourhood schools as part of larger community hub developments.

 

When I read this article I thought "What a terrific idea".  The idea of having a school, community building, seniors housing or condominiums is a fabulous plan and very forward thinking.  There are quite a few In-fill Builders that are buying up older houses in these communities and tearing them down to build beautiful new modern style homes.  My experience is that younger families are buying these homes so why not modernize the schools and give the aging population of these communities a comfortable place to move to in a neighbourhood they are familiar with.
